A global issue around the spread of false and incorrect information that appears to be published as fact.

Free New York Times Account

How do I get a free online subscription to New York Times website?

This is an alternative to using the library's databases!

  1. Go to our Databases by Subject page.
  1. Click News and History to jump to that section
  2. Click on The New York Times database.
  3. Click Create Account and enter your @go.Shoreline.edu email address
  4. Check your email and click on the confirmation link

Tips to Remember

TIP: the NYT account is not linked to your college email account. Remember whatever password you use for NYT because it won’t be the same as your email account’s password when you need to change it.

TIP: You must click on the confirmation link in order to complete the process to set up your new NYT account. If you miss this final step, your account will not be created and you will not be able to access articles on NYTimes.com.

News Available Through the Library

Don't Pay to Access News Articles

You can access many newspaper articles through the library's databases for free. Here are some great ways to get newspaper articles that would normally require a subscription.

Have an Article in Mind? We Don't Have It?

We can get an article that you aren't seeing in the sources listed here! There's a service called interlibrary loan that let's us borrow it on your behalf and then lend it to you.
