Saucer magnolia is a cross between M. denudata and M. liliiflora.

In recent years, its market demand has increased enormously. In Sichuan Province, Beichuan County is the main producing area of M. liliflora with a cultivation area of 1,000 hm^2. M. liliflora is mainly propagated by seeds in current production, but there are still many problems, such as large differences among plants and flowering late."
