"Acetone extracts of the fruits of this plant showed prominent antifeedant and stomach toxic effects to Pieris rapae L and symptoms were different from those of other insecticides. The extract also showed strong antifeedant activity against Mythimna separata Walker and Plutella xylostella L, inhibited the population growth of Sitophilus zeamais Motschulsky and Tribolium castaneum Herbst and disrupted the growth of Helicoverpa armigera Hubner." "J. sabina L. is a medicinal plant which is used in folk medicine as an abortive. Its lignanes have antineoplastic and antiviral activity. J. sabina’s essential oil has shown antibacterial and antifungal activity." [1]
